IT is ONE YEAR and 2 days past Jerrys surgery. We no longer have nights AND days of him laying around on couch/floor crying out in pain and misery! His only ritual WAS to try to go to the rr and to TRY to eat. (recall he ate simple sugars and tons of it!)He was completely housebound.he couldnt go out and it would be a fight to get him out into the car to go to the doctors. I mean literally id have to threaten to drag him out of the tub naked to the car!!! the whole time he would be cursing me for being callous and not knowing how much pain he was in!

TODAY Jerry sleeps full nights, Rides his "trike" adult bike, goes to stores, does dishes, cooks meals, (( now granted like most men i have to pull teeth to get him to do it, but hes NOW ABLE!)) goes off to stores and other places with his friends who have started coming back around. ((funny how they disappear when you are ill?))BUT i know they were tired of hearing our every moment tirade of what was going on! we totally understand! But now jerry is like a whole different person. He is now able to eat proteins. HECK he demolished the turkey and my gf made 2 hams and gave us one and he totally finished it too! He can actually start to "feel" his blood sugars now, Kathleen told us hed start learning the way they felt, when high or low. sometimes he can guess them with in ten points!
we have recently found out he has horrible sleep apnea, although we havent gotten his machine yet, i cant wait for him to have TRUELY restful sleeps! Im sure it will even improve his days even more! I cant explain how horrible his life was prior to the TP/ICT. he lived and wished to have cancer so he could end his misery~! now he cant wait to finish the last 15mg of pain meds so he can be totally off them! What a difference in his life. In our lives! As he learns more and more about his diabetes and foods, i can only forsee him getting even better~!

i wanted to put a pic on here but at this very moment he has a flu bug. I think when he went to the local quickie store he caught it. He remembers a guy in line ahead of him coughing a lung out. im like YIKES! i would have ran the other way! AS soon as i can though, ill put a pic on here when i catch him riding his trike! ALL i need now is that bright orange or red flag on the end of that 5foot fiberlass rod that stands up off back of bikes we had as kids!
