Well between Oct and Nov its been a BAD few months. Dad passed away Nov 1st, after nearly 11 months fighting the non hodgkins lymphoma. he really fought hard having radiation on a thursday then into the hospital the next day , and ended up out of the hospital the following friday. He passed away the following Saturday with my sister and I holding his hands. That part was peaceful at least. It has been nearly two months and NOW im having the bad moments. Wasnt too bad at first but as things wind down -it hits. Especially songs.

Jerry took it really hard as well. I think being ill he KNOWS the feeling and sympathized with him in a way we couldnt.

Jerry continues to monitor his bgs and takes his meds on his own with no help from me. I dont have the energy nor stamina to watch after anyone much less myself right now.

Well I failed again at updating. LOL, dads cancer relapsed, he has now had CVP+R, radiation to his back , Radiation to his neck, then one dose Fludarabine, the tumors in neck grew on that dose, and now hes taking Treanda as a last chance. If this doesnt work we have to set up hospice. This Treanda is supposed to work 3-7 days.. well day three dad thinks the tumors in his neck are already shrinking! SO hopefully this will help! The radiologist said theres nothing else he can do from his side of the fight. So this hopefully will help him feel better. Jerry has been taking care of himself and the house and me while i run back and forth with dad. Thank goodness he feels better now!

We have had good news! Last Tuesday, dads pet scan showed 90% of his cancer gone!!!! He has to undergo three total more chemos but he will make it thru. CROSSING EVERYTHING that it erradicates it ALL! I have been busy between work, home, jerry, dad, jr and just getting by. Work is slower but we are still eeking by. The big oak in my backyard dropped another huge branch and smacked the house again. Some how we need to get it taken down or down enough not to fall on the house and ill take the rest down myself. I had to go out and get a new chain for the saws. Jerrys been picking up the yard, and keeping up the house while ive been running and working. We keep having rains, and cant mow the yard, so hes been at least keeping the debri cleaned up (live on a corner and for some reason people feel the need to throw trash in the yard ). He is getting better control on his blood sugars. His doc made that note when we visited last wednesday. hes been doing much better over all. Again we are so thankful to have received this surgery and changed his life my life and just getting a life back!

well best laid plans .... i aimed to post regularly again, but things never seem to go too smoothly. Mid January, my dad ended up in the hospital with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and at the highest level 4. LUCKILY, this is the rapid one and one that has a 50/50 remission rate. Crossing all fingers, toes ect. Jerry is still doing well. NO PANCREATIC problems at all! we were moving along well with the diabetes as well , but his gastroparesis, seems to want to interfere. It will decide not to dump his food or suddenly to dump it and causes problems with medicating and dosing insulin. but for the most part hes trucking along.. The doctor has decided (endocrinologist) that he should eat anything he wants and just give himself enough humulog to cover it. This was the original thinking of the diabetic nurses we saw before seeing the endocrinologist. didnt like it and it made him sick trying to get in all the food they wanted him too. (he needs some weight on him). but if you eat a high carb meal, and then your stomach decides NOT to empty.. your blood sugar continues to drop and you end up needing sugar. so you have to treat yourself , then of course out of nowhere the stomach decides to dump.. now youre so high its rough getting the blood sugar down. this has been just lately. so i dont think this new eat whatever you want is going to work too well. we shall see.. but for the most part this has still ben the best thing we have ever done!

WOW i have been so remiss in keeping up to date. Jerry has been doing ok. He has had several colds and now has an ear infection that causes his bgs to be whacky. I think we are finally recognizing that that is a sign to look for trouble someplace. Everything has been the same, day to day survival, getting by. Last month my dad was diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma and that is my persuit now, i will try to be more structured and get at least posts more often that 6 months apart! my time flies fast! and i dont recall having any fun!!! oh well we will watch for fun on the horizon! We are meeting up with another fellow TP'er on sunday in Port St Lucy(Robin from Ga) I hope jerry can make the trek ok. we shall see.

Its been yet another full month! Jerrys doing well! he is much better on getting his bgs regulated. He can tell you before he checks his bg where he thinks he is and be within a few points of it! He is doing better in choosing and recognizing carbs/proteins and combinations of. W e had a tree nearly hit the house (it fell over from root) that was no fun. Jerry is fixing his plant projects around the yard as well. I almost had him do the weed eating part but didnt want his arms/shoulders to ache like mine did. Ill do it later on. I tried to get jerry to go to the beach but the sun/heat just around the house makes him feel woozey so the beach is out for now unless we rented a place ON the beach front where he could go in and out easily and often. That will NOT be happening anytime soon! I am hoping jerry will get with more activities around the yard and he continues to use the gazelle on the carport. Now that i have the tree down and my knee is better I will get back with the gym program and get him doing it as well. Just over all this has been a better month. I now look back on some of those older posts and see the frustration I had with him , it was like being frustrated with a child learning to tie shoelaces. It just takes time, coordination and effort.

WOW i have been very lax in updating this! Everything has been going well. Jerry is doing his own care! I totally gave it over. He has had a few episodes of HIGH and LOW usually due to a cold or illness coming on. But other than that he continues to exercise by riding his adult trike, and puttering around the house and yard, we were checking a section of the yard for a garden but figure we had better wait until i get the gasket on the well fixed as that water is SOO good for the plants. so meanwhile we will continue to work small projects around the house and carport. So if anything of importance to note happens ill Update but other than that its been and continues to be pretty calm here.
